On a recent selling trip, Ballymore Developments successfully sold 110 units during what Knight Frank are citing as one of the most “successful sales campaigns” ever in Hong Kong and Singapore. David Phillips accompanied Ballymore on the trip as the recommended furniture supplier for Pan Peninsula and are furnishing 80 of the sold units.

David Phillips, the UK’s leading investment furniture specialist, has been crowned the 2009 winner for the Furniture Company of the Year national landlord and buy-to-let award.

The Landlord and Buy-to-Let awards are the premier nationwide private rented sector awards in the UK. Trophies and certificates were presented by TV presenter and landlord campaigner Konnie Huq at a glamorous awards ceremony at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, last week.

Phone problems today

Our normal phone service has been affected today by a major phone outage in East London. BT tells us that they have been working continuously on the problem since Saturday afternoon when the incident occurred. Must mean that someone somewhere has sliced a cable in two.

Snow stops play - for the moment!

Unusually heavy snowfall has temporarily grounded the London fleet of David Phillips today. "In our 10 year history, this is a first for David Phillips. Our vans are loaded and ready to go with today's 137 deliveries, but because of the really difficult driving conditions we have had to postpone these until the weather improves" said Nicholas Gill, David Phillips' CEO. "Our sales team has called our customers to reschedule, but if customers would like to get in touch, feel free to call us on 08451 088 088."

David Phillips Scotland is continuing to operate normally, however.

At a time of unprecedented interest in the fast and total furnishing of investment properties, David Phillips has launched a new brochure featuring its 9 ready-to-go furniture packages. "We are able to draw on some of the strengths of the David Phillips Group - a design team with more than 15 years' experience of the investment furniture market, 50,000 sq.ft. of stock at our warehouses in London and Edinburgh, a fleet of 30 delivery vehicles and more than 70 skilled delivery professionals - to create what we believe are industry-leading products," said the Managing Director of David Phillips Package & Design, Andrew Clark.

The fleet grows

David Phillips has just taken delivery of 4 new delivery vehicles, in anticipation of a busy summer period. This now brings the total fleet size to 29 of the iconic red and white 3.5 tonne and 7 tonne trucks based in London and Edinburgh. "We anticipate augmenting our fleet with some hire vehicles at peak periods, but it's important that we continue to build our own delivery capacity," noted PJ Goldsworthy, David Phillips Next Day's Managing Director.

New website launched

After more than 6 months in development, David Phillips has finally launched its new website.

Featuring more than 500 new photographs of our furniture ranges, the site is fully transactional from Day 1. We have also introduced new features such as bed collections: each of our beds is now paired with our full range of mattresses, meaning that customers only have to load one page, rather than choosing a bed frame, and then search for available mattress options.

We have also introduced a new range of Next Day furniture packages, to complement those already offered by David Phillips Living, the UK leader in furniture packages.

A record year for David Phillips

We are happy to say that David Phillips has just closed another record year, and one which pays testament to the strength of the new Group. Both David Phillips' Next Day business, and David Phillips Living (which specialises in furniture packages and bespoke design projects) saw strong growth from new and existing customers.
